Recently we received a $5,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta. We also received a $500 grant from The Georgina Foundation. Both grants will support our Nature Play Space Kiosk project!
Read MoreWe are thrilled by the prospect of the LINK Pathway as it will help visitors of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre in Lethbridge and the Alberta Birds of Prey Centre in Coaldale to be able to walk, run, bike, or rollerblade between these two premier nature-based attractions. Interpretive signage will offer educational opportunities for pathway users to learn about “here” and what makes our region unique. It will also support people in spending more time outside!

The kiosk will feature: maps, information panels, interactive trail-based activity information, as well as a little library. Construction is scheduled to begin soon with final installation expected by year-end 2022.
Read MoreA signature project led by our Society was the Co-op Community Outdoor Classroom at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre. We started fundraising for the project in 2018 and construction was competed by year-end 2020. After more than a year we have experienced some great moments in the space that we wanted to share with our amazing community of supporters.
Read MoreLed by the Lethbridge Naturalists’ Society and in collaboration with the Helen Schuler Nature Centre, we are proud to partner in the second-edition of the Checklist of the Birds of the Lethbridge Area. We printed 1,000 copies of the Bird Checklists and are now distributing them in the community. Additional copies are available at the Nature Centre as part of their brochure collection.

River Valley Conservation programs encourage residents of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to pick up litter and “leave it better than they found it!”

Read MoreThroughout October Lethbridge residents will be asked to provide their thoughts about recreation and preservation in the river valley. Households will be mailed a postcard early in the month that directs them to a survey on the City’s Get Involved Lethbridge webpage. The postcard provides each household with its own, unique code that will allow them access to answer the questions.
