Snake Safety Presentations
Do you have a group or organization which may be interested in learning about snakes? Let our team of naturalists connect with your group for a public talk!
Learn about the snakes that live in Lethbridge, where you might find them, how to tell the difference, and what you can do to minimize conflict with these interesting creatures.
We regularly offer three snake presentations:
Living with Snakes - learn about the local types of snakes found in Lethbridge, the benefits of a healthy snake population, and how to live safely in snake country.
The Ins & Outs of Snakes - learn about unique adaptations of snakes and how you can safely enjoy exploring in their territory.
Snake Safety - this special training session is offered to staff who may encounter rattlesnakes as part of their daily summer work. This Safety session provides information on how you can stay safe while working in known rattlesnake areas.
Presentation are available in-person or online.
We have successfully delivered several pubic snake presentations over the years throughout Southern Alberta, including: Helen Schuler Nature Centre, Paradise Canyon Golf Resort, Riverstone Community, University of Lethbridge, Writing on Stone Provincial Park, several private contractors, and many more!
Do you need a Safe Work Practice (SWP) for Rattlesnakes at your jobsite? We have a toolkit of resources we can provide your team with so you can keep your team working safely in snake territory.
Honourariums received from Snake Safety talks helps support our education programs; donations can be made to the "Friends of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre Society."
